We know it has been around for a while, but we are still addicted to the ombre trend. This week we created this simple ombre wrap bracelet in warm summer hues – the perfect piece of arm candy! You only need 3 items, which we grabbed at M&J Trimming, and the rest is incredibly easy. Start crafting!

Supplies:

Directions:

1. Put the cord and all of the threads together, and tie a knot near the top. Make sure you leave a few inches at the top.

2. Start wrapping your first color of thread around the cord, making sure that you aren’t leaving any spaces.

3. After you have done about an inch of the first color, switch to the next color. If you really want to make a great ombre effect, combine the first and second colors and wrap them together for about half an inch, then fully switch over to the 2nd color. Continue with the rest of your colors.

4. We chose to a make symmetrical ombre effect on our bracelet, but you can also just go from your first color to your last color. Once you have reached the end, tie a few knots around the cord with your last color. Then tie a knot in the cord and cut off the excess thread. Cut off any extra cord, but make sure you leave a few inches. Tie it around your wrist and you’re all set!

Try to give up that morning coffee for a day, and instead try good old juice! It is quick and simple to make at home and deliciously healthy for your mind and body. Check out our 2 simple steps below to making one of our favorite - the carrot apple ginger juice. You only need 3 ingredients, a juicer and then you can grab your Rebecca Minkoff Bag and start your day.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Carrots
  • 3 Large or 6 Small Apples
  • Fresh Ginger

Directions:

  1. Chop everything up so they fit into your juicer. This also saves time and makes the process of making the juice much smoother.
  2. Then pop out your juicer and in minutes you will find yourself in juice paradise. Cheers!

Any true Minkette knows that neon is one of our favorite trends right now. So naturally, we had to whip up a neon DIY for you. We combined a classic chain and 3 bold neon ribbons with a super easy wraparound technique – and we are really liking how it turned out. You only need 5 items – we got all of ours from M&J Trimming – and the rest is a piece of cake! See our instructions below, and DIY away!

Supplies: 1 ft large silver chain, 4 ft each of 3 different neon cords or ribbon, pliers, scissors

Directions:

1. Tie one of the ribbons (we used green) around the right side of the first link in the chain. Bring the ribbon under the second link and then pull it through the link, making sure to stay on the right side.

2. Keep wrapping around the following links, continuing to pull the ribbon under and through each link. Continue to stay on the right side. The chain may twist a little but that’s alright!

3. Tie your second ribbon on the left side of the first link. Repeat the wraparound process that you used for the first ribbon, but this time stay on the left side.

4. Keep wrapping the second ribbon around left right side of the chain. Stop whenever it looks long enough.

5.  Tie the third ribbon around the first link. Instead of wrapping this one around the sides of the chain, weave it down the middle of the chain, going under one link and coming up in the next one.

6. Use the pliers to clip the chain wherever you want to finish. Tie all three ribbons in a tight knot around the last link. You can either leave the ends of all three ribbons on the necklace, or cut two of them off and leave one ribbon to tie the necklace together.

We have found an amazingly chic hair tutorial for the upcoming Coachella festivities! Because when you are unable to wash your hair on a daily basis, an easy updo is the perfect solution for day or night. Refinery29 gives us a step by step DIY to make our dirty hair look polished and pretty.

1. Start with a dime-sized amount of styling balm in your hands, then run it through your strands.

2. Use fingers to create a messy, deep side-part – lift and scoop your hair at the root as you pull it back to help create extra volume.

3. Starting on the side of your head that has the most hair, roll your hair in towards your head, gathering in more as you go.

4. At your ear, place a pin downwards into the roll to help secure. You want your roll to be volumized and loose.

5. Continue rolling until you get to the nape of your neck, then place another pin at the end of the roll. Repeat on the opposite side.

6. Gather the two loose sections of hair at the back of your head into a ponytail and secure with a hair bungee.

7. Take your ponytail and twist it until it bends upwards into a roll.

8. Continue rolling until all the hair is in the loose chignon, then pin the ends at the base of the neck to hide them and anchor the style.

9. To add a little bit of flair, take a fresh flower and trim the stem so it is about an inch or two long. Take a bobby pin and attach it to the flower, then push the pin into your hair at the base of the chignon.
