As Editor in Chief of Lucky magazine, Brandon Holley inspires women to shop and embrace their personal style each month. She recently opened her Rebecca Minkoff Cupid to show Minkettes what’s in her bag. Here are her personal comments about what she revealed:

1. YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in 04 Succulent Pomegranate 

“It’s the perfect sheer red lipstick. Our beauty editor Jean Godfrey June introduced me to this lipstick, and now it’s the only one I wear.” 

 2. A good book 

“Right now I’m reading “The Empty Glass” by J.I. Baker. My friend from Conde Nast Traveler wrote the book. It’s a fictional, noir account of Marolyn Monroe’s death. A great summer read.” 

3. iPhone

“My phone usually isn’t in my bag, it’s in my hand but I can’t be without it. I’m constantly checking in at the office, tweeting and saying hi to my son, Smith.” 

 4. Extra earrings

“I’m always leaving the house without my earrings, so I carry an extra pair in my bag. I like Me + Ro’s little studs with embedded diamonds—they’re classic.” 

 5. Notebook

“As an editor I am inspired everywhere I go, but remembering what inspired me is the challenge. I jot down my inspirations in a notebook. I carry the pocket-sized notebook from Paperthinks. We featured it in our holiday gift guide, and it quickly became a favorite at our office and during fashion week.”

6. Makeup pouch 

“I don’t carry much makeup with me, but what I do tote with me each day goes in a compact leather pouch. It’s stylish and functional.”
